Stepping – The Documentary

Filmmakers Marshall Blackwell and Norman Whiteburn make their feature directorial debut with this documentary on the stepping culture. A modernized version of what is known as the African gumboot dance, stepping was adopted by African-American fraternities and sororities, eventually evolving into an essential element of the black college experience. Stepping is a high energy montage of dance, jazz and military movements. Today, Stepping has become a movement amongst the youth all across the globe and has become more than just stomping the yard! It's an art form that is taking the world by storm. This documentary contains some of the most explosive step moves ever taped!
